A day in the Llosa Valley
Hiking with Donkeys in Summer
The route passes through the upper part of the Llosa Valley; climbing up the valley, you reach mountain passes to France and Andorra. In ancient times, smugglers crossed the borders at night, transporting their goods on black donkeys to avoid being seen.
Réservez dès maintenantThe valley is located between impressive mountains. Countless streams, forests, and mountain meadows make it a place of unique beauty for an unforgettable hike in the company of donkeys.
The hike through the Llosa Valley can be adapted to your pace. Those who wish can walk to the smugglers’ and shepherds’ cabin, the Cabana dels Esparvers, and even bivouac there. More athletic hikers can continue walking and cross a mountain pass into Andorra. There, you can spend the night near a lake in one of the free mountain refuges (Refugi de l’Illa or Refugi de Montmalús).
